Mushroom Cultivation Class: Oyster Species

Learn the art and science of cultivating your own Oyster mushrooms in this hands-on class. You will inoculate your own cultivation bag with one of three Pleurotus species (King, Grey, Yellow) filled with protein, fiber and vitamins, that you will enjoy at home the freshest way possible. Discover the simple steps to grow these versatile fungi, from spore to plate; learn a new way to control your own food sources with the best meat substitute nature has to offer.

About the Instructors:

Alexandra Morales, most know me as Alexa. Originally from California, I´ve been loving life here in the Ribera of Chapala for about five years now. Having completed a Bachelor's Degree in Biology at Universidad de Guadalajara, specializing in mycology and the cultivation of culinary species, I´ve made it part of my life´s work to share this magical and misunderstood kingdom.

Marco Fregoso Llamas, agronomist from Ribera de Chapala, specializing in biotechnology, horticulture, and regenerative agriculture. He has a small farm where he grows edible and medicinal mushrooms, vegetables, and trees.
