The Lake Chapala Society (LCS) has within its mission to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the Mexican community through relevant programs and services, and since 1994 has been administering the Student Aid Program with which it grants financial aid to bright, low-income students from the Chapala Lakeside area who intend to carry out or are carrying out university studies.

This economic support, which in no way constitutes a scholarship, is intended to cover a fixed amount for each school calendar that the beneficiary can use for enrollment fees, tuition, school books, materials related to the performance of their academic activity, transportation, maintenance, etc.

If the candidate maintains his/her status as a regular university student according to the established procedure and the policies of this program, he/she may receive financial support throughout his/her academic career until the completion of the same, unless he/ she is late or misses complete periods. (This does not include periods of social service or professional internships).

The call for applications is opened twice a year, in June and October. The reception of applications and documents takes place only during the above mentioned months. The application and documents are accepted only in electronic pdf or image formats. Files must show clear, legible and complete documents.

The interview periods for the socio-economic study take place only in the months of July and November in the respective call for applications.

The decisions of the Program Committee regarding the acceptance or denial of the economic support will be sent exclusively by e-mail from this address: [email protected] during the last week of either July or November.
