Thursday, April 25 at 10:00 - 6:00 pm
Tonala “Tianguis” is synonymous with folk art, this comes from the Náhuatl word for market and this place is the best ways to experience an ancestral tradition and it is home to some of the most sought-after ceramics in the country.
This place is also known as “the cradle of ceramics”.
Since pre-Hispanic times, the "Tianguis" on Thursdays was the traditional meeting point in the plaza of Tonalá. Indigenous people from different points of the Atemajac Valley exchanged their merchandise in this place.
Each week about 3,500 to 4,000 merchants are installed and you can find wrought iron, paper mache, embossing, blown glass crafts and of course delicious Mexican cuisine.
We leave at 10:00 am from La Floresta roundabout.
