In this five week workshop, participants will discover the unparalleled work of some of the best Latin American short story writers and learn about the context, theory and technique behind their masterpieces through the Latin American Short Story Workshop; where you will learn and exercise the tools for your own narrative work. Learn with this adventure and become a better writer. The duration of the workshop season is divided into four blocks of ffive sessions each, and the sessions deal with the following topics: -History: study of several periods, movements, and styles in the history of Latin American literature. - Life and work: information about the life of some fundamental writers and analysis of their work through the reading of a short story. -Literary resources: techniques and resources of creative writing. -Aspects of grammar: general knowledge of the structures in the Spanish language applied to creative writing and its equivalents in English.
Mario Z Puglisi (Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. 1980), is a poet and independent editor. Founder and editor of Meretrices, a cultural magazine in Lakeside, Chapala. Winer of the International First Poetry Prize at the International Poetry Festival of Puerto Rico, Honorable Mention in the World Erotic Poetry Contest “Blessed be your Body” in Peru, among many others. His work has been published in dozens of national and international magazines, both paperback and virtual. His literary workshop in the Cultural Center of Axixic has more than fifteen years. He´s the author of five poetry books published in Mexico, Spain and the USA.
