This bilingual ceremony will take us on a journey to meet Michicihualli, the goddess of the lake. Participants will participate in powerful rituals designed to connect with the spirit world, invoke healing, and facilitate personal and communal transformation. This ceremony is ancient and deeply rooted in the belief that everything in the universe is interconnected. The presenter uses guided meditation and a variety of indigenous musical instruments during the ceremony. Please bring water, and a mat or blanket to recline on.

Jesus Ehecatl Siordia Garcia was born in 1965 in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Quickly, his destiny guides him in the sacred paths of our traditions, our true culture. Approaching the Mexican autochthonous music, the ritual dance, he met the Marakame grandfather Pablo Taizán, with whom he held countless ceremonies in the kalpulli of San Isidro Mazatepec. Later he entered the philosophy degree program at the University of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. There he was formed as a researcher in the field of our Nahuatl Philosophy. He also trained, in parallel, as an organologist and builder of musical instruments of Mexican autochthonous origin. Within the State Council of Culture and Arts, the University of Guadalajara and the National Institute of Anthropology and History, he ventured into the field of Ethno Musicology with Dr. J. Arturo Chamorro Escalante. Throughout the years he has developed his professional activity as a musician, researcher, ethno musicologist and teacher in institutions such as the Department of Fine Arts of Jalisco, the Cabañas Cultural Institute, the University of Guadalajara, the City Halls of Zapopan and Guadalajara Jalisco, among others. He currently performs traditional ceremonies around Lake Chapala. He is general director of the artistic group of Mexican autochthonous music: U QUX CAH. He is also part of the Indigenous and Afro-American Governance of Jalisco, in the structure of Chapala and Ajijic; as director of the area of uses, customs and indigenous traditions.
