Geometric Drawing Class- Friday Nov. 13, 1pm to 3pm. West Campus Sala.

Learn to use a compass and straight edge to create a multitude of precise mandala/ geometric forms. Then color or paint the form to make a unique beautiful mandala or geometric designs of your choice. We will start with the 6 and 12 division (hexagon/ hexagram) 

NOTE:  Fee will help cover the cost of materials and use of compasses, straight edge, paper, colored pencils used by students in Geometric Drawing for Students classes.

Objectives and methodology: 

  • Learn to use a compass and straightedge (ruler) to make circle based, geometric mandala forms – starting with the 6 and 12 divisio
  • Color the resultant form (learn about shading
  • Following classes would include the 4, 5, 8 and 10, 16, 20 and 24 divisions.

About the Instructor:

Juliane De Arraya is an artist and scientist and a well-trained, experienced educator. She holds a Bachelor of Science in General Science with minors in Organic Chemistry and Geology and Master of Arts in Waldorf Education and has over 25 years of teaching experience, focused on integrating art and science in every class. She taught all subjects for 5- 8th graders in Waldorf schools in the US and high school science and math internationally.
