CLASS #1 - Sketching/Drawing with Perspective  - Monday, November 30th from 11am to 4pm (1 hour break)- Classes will take place at LCS Gazebo.

Let’s draw 3D scenes in 2D by free hand. We study the point, line and space as instruments for creation. Learn to sketch as a starting point to a drawing, painting or idea, with an emphasis on adding 3D perspective.

As a trained architect, Ricardo Sanchéz teaches how sketching with pencil as a starting point for artistic expression will allow you to polish your idea or concept before committing.  To learn perspective drawing, we will start with understanding the basic concepts like vanishing points and horizon lines, which help create the illusion of depth on a flat surface. Practicing with simple shapes, such as boxes, and gradually moving to more complex scenes will enhance your skills.  Learn to draw your lines to one or many vanishing points to stretch the perspective of your drawing. Sketching and drawing are critical skills for representing your ideas before painting watercolors.

This is class #1 in a series of 6 with each building on the previous class. Experienced watercolor artists are welcomed in all classes. All students who attend BOTH drawing & watercolor classes can attend a free bonus 3 hour “plein air” painting session with Ricardo on Friday December 4^th from 11 – 2pm.
