The Lake Chapala Society (LCS) — for over 70 years has focused on "People Helping People," Mexican and foreign residents together through education, culture, volunteering, and support for local students. I am proud to be an Ambassador for this most important organization. We offer over 50 programs to the lcoal community which include: Children's Art programs, Student Aid, ESL classes,Photography classes, empowerment programs.
About The Lake Chapala Society
The Lake Chapala Society (LCS) is a community organization in Ajijic, Mexico, bringing together foreigners and local Mexican family members. Founded to build chared collaborations, LCS runs one of the largest English-language libraries as well as a Latin book library where students can work on their school studies. We also offer extensive language classes to all.
A Few Things LCS Offers
● One of the largest English-language libraries in Latin America
● Spanish classes and cultural orientation for those new to Lakeside
● Concerts in the Park, Open Circle presentations, and social/enrichment classes
● A Student Aid Program supporting an average of 40 local students per term
● Health and wellbeing programs, including screenings and support groups
● A Mexican cultural collaboration commitment between the expat and Mexican communities
● Children's Art Program, Chess program, Photography program, mentorship efforts and joint projects with area schools and other local nonprofits that support the community.

A future where all Lakeside residents continually have a role in enriching the community's quality of life, vitality, and prosperity through the exchange of knowledge, expertise, culture, heritage, and language.
About "Why I Stay"
This is a peer-to-peer effort: 100 LCS members and volunteers each sharing, in their own words, why they're part of this community — and inviting the people who know them best to be part of it too, even from a distance.
